The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) joins Global Drug Reference Online (Global DRO) to enable para-athletes to check the doping status of medication.

To prevent para-athletes from inadvertently using medication that contains a substance on the World Anti-Doping Agency's (WADA) Prohibited List, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has introduced a "Medication Check" at www.paralympic.org. This query is particularly helpful for those countries that do not have their own medication check.

Global DRO is brought to you through a partnership between Swiss Sport Integrity, the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES), UK Anti-Doping (UKAD), and the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). The Sport Integrity Commission NZ, the Japan Anti-Doping Agency (JADA), Sport Integrity Australia and now the IPC are official Global DRO licensees.

Swiss Sport Integrity is a long-standing partner of Global DRO and has therefore had its own query for Swiss medications for many years. Swiss para-athletes therefore continue to use the Medi-Check app and the Medication Inquiry Service for checking medication on the SSI website. The introduction of the IPC query therefore does not involve any changes for Switzerland.

As part of its anti-doping education efforts at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, the IPC will be promoting the "Medication Check" at the WADA Athlete Engagement booth in the Paralympic Village and in doping control stations at competition venues.
